Kanger Protank Review:

My review of the Kanger Protank:

Greetings fellow vapers!  Time for a hardware review!  Today I will be giving you my opinions on the Kanger Protank using a 2.4ohm coil.  Here is the official manufacturer's site http://www.sz-kanger.com/collections/kanger-clearomizer/products/kanger-protank-clearomizer-1pc-in-paper-box .

First impressions:  I will start by saying that I did not spring for the fancy packaging.  I went with the standard paper box model because it came with all the same things.  My package included two 2.4 ohm heads.  One was pre-installed in the tank and the other was an extra.  Upon first inspection I was blown away at how sleek and beautiful this tank is.  The pyrex glass used for the actual tank itself was relatively thick and seems as though it will be very durable.  The metal segments also seem equally nice, though I will say the 510 connection st the bottom of the tank is a bit fragile.  Before I bought my own I personally witnessed a friend of mine break off his 510 threading into his Innokin iTaste MVP after a single drop onto concrete a few days after he got it.

The Performance:  The first thing you will notice when taking a draw from this tank is the ease of the pull.  The draw is airy and cool unlike many other tanks I have tried.  If you don't want a cooler vapor or desire a tighter draw you may want to consider something different such as the Vivi Nova or Innokin iClear 30.  Admittedly the taste produced by different juices in this tank can be a bit muted at times.  I have ran several different juices through the tank and , like many people, was forced to make a simple modification to mine to improve both performance and taste.  This modification involves removing the head from inside the tank, pulling the post form the middle of the head, removing the top flavor wick, and doing a dry burn (Be sure to rinse your wicks out first and be careful doing this because too much dry burning will pop your coil!) while leaving the post disconnected.  After doing this and fully reassembling it the performance has improved massively I must say.  Flavor is much more pronounced and the vapor production is noticeably more consistent.  Before this modification often times the tank seemed to have trouble keeping up and sometimes produced a somewhat burnt taste, so buyer beware if you aren't willing to do some work to make this the amazing tank it truly has the potential to be.  This tank will truly produce massive clouds of vapor with ease and also allow for chain vaping once the modification is completed though.

Buy or Pass?:  If you are willing to forgive the fragile 510 connection and modify it slightly this tank is an absolute beast.  I would say it is well worth the money you will give for it (usually $13.00 - $22.00 depending on specials).  What can I say?  I love my Kanger Protank and it is my tank of choice which is why I am using it for all my review.

MBV, Hawk Sauce:

My review of Mt. Baker Vapor, Hawk Sauce:

Greetings fellow vapers!  Alright, one more for tonight : ) .  To wrap up tonight I am going to end with Mt. Baker Vapor's signature blend, Hawk Sauce, found at http://www.mtbakervapor.com/ .

I first encountered this because a good friend of mine bought some.  I was intrigued so I spent my own money to get some.  This was not given to me as a promotion.

First impressions:  Mt Baker Vapor isn't known for fancy packaging or over the top bottle design.  They are a typical vendor in this regard.  Where they are not a typical vendor is their outstanding selection of flavors and great customer service.  Also the lack of "fancy" helps keep the prices down on their stellar juice selection.  Upon opening the bottle there is a light fruity smell and a woft of, I want to say, blackberry.  This blend is 70%VG, 30% distilled water because, again, I like staying away from PG.

The Taste:  This juice tastes great!  I will not claim it had the most robust or strong taste, but that is why Mt. Baker Vapor offers 25 cent flavor shots to add to your juice.  I kind of like this idea because it lets you customize your own personal experience.  As for the Hawk Sauce, while a little on the weak side for my tastes it has a complex variety of berry flavors that aren't too overpowering and allow a sweet, almost toasted sugar flavor to shine around the edges.  This blend is very smooth and for the vaper on a budget like myself I could easily see it being an all day vape.

Vapor Production:  My experience may not be the same as others because I do get a custom blend of VG and distilled water, but man, let me tell you, this stuff vapes like nobodies business.  It isn't very thick so it wicks well and has the ability to blast you in the face.

Buy or Pass?:  For $5.99 for a 15 ml bottle how could you possibly go wrong?  It's as good a vape as anyone could hope for at that price and if you are like me and want a little more flavor, add a shot or two; they are only 25 cents each!  Definitely a buy in my books.

The Vapor Chef, Shmuffer Shmutter:

My review of The Vapor Chef, Shmuffer Shmutter:

Greetings fellow vapers!  It's time for another review!  I am going to be taking a look at Shmuffer Shmutter by The Vapor Chef found on http://thevaporchef.com/ .

Peanut butter, bananas and toasted marshmallows...where could you go wrong here?  This juice was bought myself and not given to me as a promotion.

First impressions:  As with my previous review of Honey Pearry from The Vapor Chef the packaging was very nice.  I am a huge fan of peanut butter so I was more than a little excited to try this blend!  This blend was made with 70% VG, 30% PG and had an extremely strong aroma of sweet, sweet peanut butter.

The Taste:  As soon as I inhaled my first draw I knew it was love at first vape.  Ok, maybe I'm a little biased because I have always loved peanut butter, but I really have to say, this is a complex, rich, and delightfully full bodied vaping experience.  If you don't like peanut butter you will hate this.   Beyond the velvety curtains of peanut butter pouring onto my pallet there was a fresh fruity explosion of banana; thankfully nothing artificial tasting!  There was also a light toasty flavor from the marshmallow, but it wasn't pronounced and seemed to mainly be there to add a sweetness.  If nothing else, this truly was just like taking a giant bite out of all the listed ingredients.  It was quite powerful on the flavor and to me that is a good thing. This is something I would recommend to anyone trying not to eat sweets.  Why get fat when you can taste a vapor that is amazingly just as satisfying?

Vapor Production:  As I have come to expect from The Vapor Chef the vapor production was great.  I will note that the smell is quite strong with this one so it isn't something you want to do where it wouldn't be welcomed.

Buy or Pass?:  Do you love deserts?  Do you love peanut butter and bananas combined?  If you answered yes to either one of those then this is a must have.  I don't think this could ever be an all day vape for me, but when I am in the mood for desert this will certainly be my go-to.

the Vapor Chef, Honey Pearry:

My review of The Vapor Chef, Honey Pearry:

Greetings fellow vapers!  Today I am going to review Honey Pearry by The Vapor Chef found at http://thevaporchef.com/ .

I know, I know, this stuff has been reviewed a million times by people and is an all day vape for many of us, but I figure it can't be a proper review blog without giving my opinions on this amazing juice.  This juice was bought myself with my own money and not given as a promotion.

First impressions:  Upon first receiving my bottle of Honey Pearry I have to say, the bottle is very nice.  The labeling is simple and to the point and the bottle is a nice quality glass with a dripper on the inside.  My specific batch is a 70%VG, 30%PG mixture as I prefer more VG than PG.  Once I loaded up my first bit in my Kanger Protank and could smell the mixture out in the open air I was initially really blown away at just how good this stuff smells.

The Taste:  Heaven...no seriously, I can't really think of a better way to describe it.  It has a nice fruity vibe to it, but not in a candy way at all.  It is truly like biting into a fresh crisp honeydew melon with a subtle hint of pear.  To be honest the strawberry flavor is not too prevalent, but it is there.  I imagine with a good open air steep for a couple of days the notes of strawberry would come out quite nicely.  It is indeed one of the more refreshing juices I have tried.  It isn't too sweet, nor too tart, just a robust flavorful vape that is sure to keep you coming back for more.

Vapor Production:  What can I really say here?  I had no trouble wicking it up in my Protank and the clouds just kept coming.  It's exactly the kind of vape I love.

Buy or Pass?:  I will definitely be buying this juice again.............and again, and again.  I implore any of you that were on the fence about this juice to jump on it.  Seriously, what are you waiting for!?

Introductory post:

An Introduction:

My name is Jon Oliver and I am relatively new to the vaping scene.  I decided to open this blog as an attempt to educate people about different juice vendors and their products.  This blog will mainly be dedicated to juice reviews.  Occasionally I may review some hardware as I acquire new equipment, but that is not my main focus.  This will be a down to earth approach aimed at the average consumer and I hope you all enjoy reading my thoughts and impressions.

Check back here frequently for new updates and review and please bare with me while I get this process started.  I am currently working on talking with vendors that would like their products reviewed.  In the meantime I will be reviewing products I have already bought.

All reviews will be done using relatively cheap equipment to ensure that even a broke vaper like myself will have the experience I am describing.  I will be using a Saturn Venus and a regular old ego style 510 900mah non-VV battery.
