Kamry K101 Review

My review of the Kamry K101:

Greetings fellow vapers!  Time for a hardware review.  Today I will be taking a look at the Kamry K101 telescoping mechanical mod which I picked up from Vaping Xtreme.

First impressions:  The K101 is pretty tiny to be honest, even in 18650 configuration.  Weight however is a different story.  It has a nice heft to it which adds to the solid feel of the device overall.  It's slick and clean looking through and through.  I personally got the purple version which can be seen here:  http://www.vapingxtreme.com/Kamry-K101-Purple.html .

Build Quality:  The K101 has no brass or steel to be seen.  The entire thing seems to made from anodized aluminum.  This may worry some, but personally the overall build seems to be solid and while the threads aren't what I would call buttery smooth, with a little lube there should be no issues.  That being said, when telescoping out all the way you will hear some mild squeaking.  After telescoping out there is some rattling, but once a battery is in the device (in this case and 18650) there are no signs of this rattle.  There are 3 air holes on the top cap to make sure all your flush mounted devices get air flow which is nice to see, 3 air holes further down the inside tube for battery venting purposes, and a further 3 holes at the bottom of the device just above the locking ring for battery venting as well.  Speaking of the lock ring, this thing works like a charm.  On the K101 like many mechanical mods the lock ring is reverse threaded and I am happy to say it spins with ease.  Now on to the only real negative I could find with the device; the bottom firing button.  This button has a very stiff action, but luckily the actual throw is relatively short.  Some may like this extra tension because it keeps the device from firing while standing even when it isn't locked.  I tested this by putting a weighty AGA T-2 atop the device full of liquid and still didn't have any issues.  Overall, in this price range, this is a very good quality device.

Final Verdict:  It is my opinion that one could not really go wrong with the Kamry K101.  It's a solid choice for a budget conscious mechanical mod that is sure to please anyone and with a variety of color options available you can definitely find something to suite almost any taste.
